Notes: | Daughter of Patrick McMahon and Catherine Carroll, both born in Ireland. Married James Francis Riley on November 28, 1889 in Chicago, Illinois. To this union were born James F., William P. 'Willie', Mark Raymond, Loretta C., Grace B., and John Joseph Riley, all born in Chicago. Bridget's husband and four of her children (James, Willie, Loretta and Grace) died young and are buried at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Chicago, Illinois. Son Mark is buried at Resurrection Cemetery, Montebello, Los Angeles County, California. Son John is living in Pasadena, California in the 1930 census with his brother Mark and widowed mother Della B. in the household; this is the only record we have seen with the name Della. Bridget's death certificate lists her last usual residence as "1 mile S of the junction of Hwy 6 and Angeles Crest Highway, and 2 miles NE on a private road". In the 1950 census she is found living next door to her son John at that location. There is a Lisa Riley also buried here at the old Palmdale Cemetery, her relationship to Bridget, if any, is unknown at this time. Death Certificate 5843 |
