They had originated from Odenburg, Germany and departed from Bremen, Germany. The family proceeded to Winnemucca, Nevada, where Johanna died in1882. On September 14, 1884 in Orange County, California, John married Dorothea 'Dora' Heinrich, widow of John H. Heinrichs. Reference: History of Idaho, The Gem of the Mountains Vol. 3 by John H. Hawley page 245 - Biographical sketch for John Henry Nagel (ed. son of John Diedrich Nagel) The headstone for John is missing. The granite base is between Dorathea and Richard. Some records indicate that Dorathea's headstone was next to Richard, with John's headstone in the position now occupied by Dorathea's. |
