Notes: | A member of the Carter family who were pioneers in the Antelope Valley.. Son of Benjamin Franklin Carter and Louise Runnels who are buried at Riverside Cemetery, Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Married Minnie Laura Petrie on January 28, 1884 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. To this union were born Charles Elmo, Myrtle, Minnie Pearl, Ramona M. and Juanita C. 'Neta' Carter. John married second Jessie A. Nugent on November 18, 1912 in Santa Ana, California. After the passing of Jessie, John married Maree Baker on August 22, 1935 at Los Angeles, California. Jessie and Maree are also buried here at Lancaster Cemetery. John is the 5th great grandson of Thomas and Mary Carter. John's great grandfather was Colonel John Carter who fought in the American Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.
